Here at Eng Orthodontics, we are proud to offer two-phase treatment.
Two-phase treatment is used not only to straighten your child’s teeth but also to make sure that your child’s face is symmetrical. Using two-phase treatment, we can focus on both the teeth and overall appearance of your child’s face.
Though many people try to put off orthodontic work, the sooner that we are able to fix whatever the problem is, the easier the treatment will be. As soon as your dentist recommends orthodontic work, you should bring your child in right away to ensure a quick recovery.
The first phase of treatment deals with the placement of children’s jaw bones. Early treatment during this phase can save children a lot of struggles later in life. We work to line up their jaws better. During this phase, we don’t use braces or other appliances on the teeth since permanent teeth are still erupting.
After a rest period while the rest of the permanent teeth come in, we start phase two, which involves using braces or some other appliance to line up the teeth correctly. This phase can take up to two years to move the teeth where they need to be. Afterward, it is recommended that children wear a retainer to keep their teeth in place.
